Question

I wanted some help on this elemental asoect of the ninjutsu and that 8 gate stuff.
I understand that it goes in this:

On element ninjutsu:
Whats stronger than the other
Fire stronger than wind,
Wind stronger than lightning,
Lightning stronger than earth,
Earth stronger than water,
Water stronger than fire

Whats weak against the other:
Water weak against earth,
Earth weak against lightning,
Lightning weak against wind,
Wind weak against fire,
Fire weak against water

Now what I don't get is this and i need help understanding it:
I know you can combine two elements to make another one.
Well just what are those combinations?
What are those combinations strong against, and what are they weak againgst?

On that 8 gate stuff:
I only know that it has something to do with taijutsu, anything I can get about this would be great.

Also I'd like to know what villages are open and what ranks are avialable in them. Are there any special groups or something like that?
Another thing could you please also direct me to anything like important pules or guidelines?

Combinations:
Earth+Water=Wood((Forbidden unless with kekkei)) Weak against Fire(Duh)
Water+Wind=Ice(Kekkei) Weak against Fire/Lightning I believe.
Some think that Fire and Earth might make a metal or lava element, lava weak against water.
Beyond that, its up to your imagination and whether or not you have a kekkei for it
