The Greatest Gamble

[[This'll make me twitch...but I'll cut it down to a paragraph or so...]]

Kiun stood calmly in the shade of a massive umbrella, his back to the clay wall of a building within the sand village. Infiltrating it was no problem, he just had to bribe the guards, but he had a specific target which would be the challenge. The day was bright and warm, as usual, and the empty street seemed to glow. The pale yellow sands reflected the sunlight like gold, which happened to make Kiun think about gambling. As he waited for the Sannin known as Kagerichi to walk by, Kiun shuffled a deck of cards. They were well-worn, but seemed to still be in decent condition. On the backs were black backgrounds and a gold kanji for the word Kiun. He smiled to himself humorously, as he thought of the payment this man would bring him. Staring down at the two identical tattoos on each of his hands, he began to think. Which weapon will kill him...?

Kagerichi, running through the streets at high-speeds, tries to seek out the Kazekage. The village was just attacked by two dangerous men, Kagerichi had no idea who these men were but he knew, as a Sannin, he would have to defend his village. Pipe in mouth, while releasing a streak of smoke while running, Kagerichi passes by a man. This was one of the men that infiltrated the village, he could sense it. He sped past the man but as soon as he locked eyes with him, everything slowed down. Kagerichi came to a halting stop and wasted no time in starting combat with the man. He ran at him, right fist clenched and left hand open for a block. He lashed out at the man with a forceful punch, able to break straight through the building, or break the man's face if he didn't do anything.

Kiun smiled even more widely as his target appeared. With a pipe in his mouth, the man charged Kiun. First mistake.. Kiun thought to himself, stopping the shuffling motion his hands were making. He placed the deck in his vest pocket and buttoned it, as the man neared. He balled his fist and left the other open for a block, good structure for a beginner. However, it was straightforward with little to back it. Second mistake.. He thought as he dropped down into the sand. Tumbling to the right, he dodged the attack with ease and popped back up onto his feet. Suddenly, his hand shot toward the man's kidney. His fingers were bunched together tightly, his hand reminiscent of a snake's head.

Kagerichi's fist blow was dodged with ease as he struck the building, arm purging right through it. The man appeared, swiftly, on his right side and struck through Kagerichi's body at kidney point. The arm seems to 'melt' through Kagerichi as he slowly dissipates into smoke. The now body of smoke, encased around the man's arm, attempts to form a sleeve around it. Kagerichi's head pops out of the sand near the man, a few meters away. "Gotcha..." Kagerichi says to himself, holding up two fingers. The smoke slithers and writhes around the mans arm trying to form that sleeve.

Kiun smiled down at the smoke as it began to form around his sleeve. He activated a hand seal with his open hand, and suddenly blades tore through the sleeve of his dress shirt. The blades cut through the smoke, and it dissipated as he tore his arm backward and away from it. The blades sunk back into their tattoos and the sleeve fell to the ground, now useless. "Why do I wear sleeves?" He wondered aloud. Suddenly, his foot rose into the air and snapped back down in a flash. The heel of his foot fell toward Kage's head, with enough power to smash his skull like a pumpkin.

Kagerichi was fascinated by the man's weaponry skill. Face-palming himself, mentally, for not modifying the density of the smoke, so as to not be effected by the weaponry, Kagerichi watches the man as he makes his comment and lashes out with his heel. Surprised by the speed, Kagerichi slinks back into the sand, releasing a large amount of smoke from his mouth right before, serving as a smokescreen. Barely dodging the quick blow from the heel, Kagerichi slinks out of the smoke away from the man. Since the smoke would definitely be close to him (hence the smokescreen) Kagerichi puts two fingers to his chest, yet again, triggering the smokescreen to explode in an instant.

Kiun's heel met the smoke as soon as it exploded. He pulled back on instinct, flipping backward and into the air. However, the noise had disoriented him a tad bit, due to his heightened senses. He stumbled for a split second when he hit the ground again, sliding a bit on the sand. Smoke is bad... Kiun thought, making a mental note of that for later. He turned to figure out where the Sannin was, looking over the expanse of the field he had chosen. Realizing that they sand was a poor life decision, he kicked off and into the air. The force of his kick sent a ripple through the sand, and launched him high above the roof of the short building. He landed in the middle of the roof and nodded to himself. The roof was lower to the ground, so it would be easy for the old man to get up. It was also several meters wide all around, making it a decent size for a battlefield.

"Haven't used these in a while..." Kagerichi said smiling to himself, withdrawing a small scroll from his pocket. Unhooking the small brass lock, the scroll slowly unravels, revealing several seals and special writings. Holding it in his mouth, and doing a few hand-seals, a sea of smoke is released from the center of the scroll. The smoke filled up a huge area of the battlefield, including where the man was standing, and served as a dense mist, but of smoke. The smoke was a dense black and it was incredibly hard to see in front of you, much like a Mist Shinobi's mist Jutsu."Your in my domain now!" Kagerichi shouted out to the gambling man. "I can warp through this smoke for an easy assassination... And just to make things worse..." The man felt an incredible weight on his shoulders. The smoke was changing density and weight at a very excessive rate. "Lethal isn't it? I can change the weight and density while still keeping its wafting like feature. You know what that means... Right?" Two hands slither and coil around the ankles of the gambler. "... Nothing can get rid of it..." The voice seemed like it was pressed against the man's ear, yet nothing was there and the 'hands' were getting tighter.

Kiun laughed aloud as the smoke began to condense around him. As it hardened two large blades protruded from his legs. These didn't dissipate the smoke, but they pushed it back due to the force of their summoning. Using the opening, Kiun jumped as high as he could into the air. He flipped backward, arching toward a higher building. This one was less spacious, but it was nowhere near the smoke. Smoke rises... He thought, looking down at the smoke which stayed upon the roof of the building. But his smoke is as dense as steel...can it still float? he wondered, as he surveyed the area. He was in a tight spot, but it wasn't the worst possible position for him. The blades retracted back into their tattoos, and he let out a ragged breath. I hate using ninjutsu... He thought, clenching his fists. He took up a crouching stance on the edge of the rooftop, ready to spring away if he needed to.

The smoke did not rise. The smoke did not descend. It stayed the same, a simple hovering staying in place, with a few ripples here and there; much like a calm sea. Two arms slowly erected from the sea of smoke, and the tilted toward the gambler. Kagerichi was nowhere to be seen, but there was a high chance that the two arms were his. The arms and hands were completely contained in the smoke and giant claws were starting to form. They launched out at break-neck speeds toward the gambler. The first one was launching out at full speeds in a linear 'format'. The second one was going slightly slower but was limp and ready to lash out if the gambler dodged the first hand.

Kiun smirked as the arms came toward him. They were forming claws, similar to his own. One came directly at him, as another came around; ready to attack if he dodged. It was a well-thought-out plan, but not that good. Kiun stood up to meet the hands. Suddenly, he spun on his right heel. His left foot lashed out, hitting the first claw directly in the side and shattering it. It would probably reform, but he had done what he had intended. His right hand continued in the spinning motion, balling into a firm fist as it arched around for the next claw. His fist met the claw head-on, tearing through it with the sheer force of his attack. He used the momentum to continue propelling him, as he launched himself to the right and onto the adjacent roof.
