A less bright, only moderately new face[[Private]]

Hotaru sighed, leaping off of the low roof of a shed. He had been sitting upon the roof all night, he couldn't sleep. It seemed he was readjusting to this new life quite a bit more slowly than he had expected; he normally trained all night with Kidate every Saturday, from six in the afternoon to eight the next morning. He looked down at the sheet of paper which he had crumpled up in his fist, it was a notice that he was to show up at the training grounds, by request of the Mizukage. The only real reason Hotaru had decided to go along with it was because he liked the man, and he seemed to know enough to be able to teach him something at the very least. However, the not had never actually said when they were to meet, only that they were to meet, so Hotaru had come to the Training Grounds immediately. When he arrived he soon realized that there was no way anyone in the village would train so late, so he took a seat on top of the roof of a shed that acted like a supply storage for training shinobi. It held extra tools, dummies, and various other things. Since then he just sat there, and waited, patiently, for the arrival of Naizu. After several hours past noon, Hotaru finally decided to give up. He turned his back on the training area, and began to leave.

Naizu was stationary from across another roof top, watching the young Goyan to see how much patience he would have to await the Mizukage. He was impressed at the fact of how long he waited and didn't seem angered or much emotional to the fact of the Kage's tardiness. Not only was it impressive how the situation was handled, but it also allowed him to see just how he'd react under times like this, where he'd have to sit and wait for someone...similar to an intel recover mission. "Leaving so soon" said Naizu as he skipped across the area to meet up with the kid before he got to far off, and landing beside the kid. "I see that you don't have a shortage of patience, something else that reminds me of a Goyan named Kidate" he said with a smile. With that, Naizu turned face front with Hotaru, and looked at him in the eyes for a moment. "Today, were gonna see what we can do to test your ability to remove yourself from a Genjutsu, I will start with something simple, then proceed with checking on your ninjutsu, followed by your taijutsu...are you ready?"

Well, I must say that thats not a problem because what I have in mind is nothing that would put you in any harm or panic in any sense. My method is simple, though it will progress as time moves on and you begin to get better with recognition as well as generating enough chakra to break the genjutsu. Above that, you also have to realize that this, as we speak, is a genjutsu and you probably weren't aware of it due to the nature of this technique" Naizu explained to the Goyan kid. "As of now, we will not worry about any of the other arts until this one concludes in order to enhance your progression with this specific one. So...what can you think of to break this genjutsu? There are a few ways to have this broken but two in specific that work better above the others" he said. On the outside, Naizu was leaning up against a shed with his arms folded and his legs crossed, simply looking at Hotaru and thinking of what the young one would come up with.

Description: After contact with Naizu's eyes, the opponent will see things only going their way as if everything is going as planned. Nothing is happening in the real world however as they stay at a stand still almost zombie like.

"That's a tricky one. Unlike some genjutsu, I don't think I can control my body right now. But, if I could, I'd suggest causing myself pain, which ends a genjutsu. There is also the technique Kai, but my chakra isn't strong enough. The only other method I know of would require some help from others.." He said as he began to think hard. He had no real other options here. He was sure the man had moved, so attacking would be useless. He could get rid of all of his senses as well, but he didn't know how, some things one can't control, like touch and hearing. He was out of ideas already, and quite ashamed of himself.

"The main thing would probably be to have an understanding of what you can control, for example, you may not be able to do anything like run or generate enough chakra to break this. However you can inflict pain upon yourself without say stabbing yourself or something of that nature, you can however use your mouth in a way, that should give you sufficient knowledge and with that I'll let you be" he said in an explanation to young one. Naizu, while standing against the tree, made a clone that simply walked behind Hotaru about 10 yds and began to in take a deal of chakra in its left eye just in case he over did it a bit. "This should be interesting to see what he does, though if I know his clan like I think I do, he should know what to do in this situation. I wouldn't do this to anyone but this kid I feel has the potential to surpass his father and I if given the proper training...lets see..." thought the Mizukage.

Use...my...mouth? Hotaru thought to himself curiously. He began to move his tongue around, suddenly feeling the extremely sharp fangs within his mouth. He smiled wide, revealing the pearly white teeth that erected from his gums. Clamping down on the inside of his cheek, he began to draw tiny drops of blood, enough to create a sharp pain without inflicting any serious damage.

"Good job, you got the hint and im proud of ya, but you're gonna need to do a little more than that to break the illusion. But the purpose of this exercise was to simply give you the understanding of your alternatives if placed in a predicament such as that. Now we will move on to the next exercise of which tests your hand to hand skills. This will start...now" he said releasing the genjutsu and sending the clone at the Gouyan. It was a was a clone made of steam chakra and it charged fiercely towards the chunin, sliding to a spinning halt which turned to a round house kick towards the mid section of the young shinobi.

Hotaru's ears twitched, he heard the russeling noise of feet displacing grass. As Hotaru turned toward the sound he saw a law snap forward toward his torso. Ducking under the kick with the speed and agility of an actual cat, he leaped forward, placing himself under the leg and closer to the clone. An elbow shot up at the clone's exposed crotch. It was a cheap shot, but there was no time for fair fights in combat.

The rate of spin the kick came with allowed evasion of the crotch shot, though ultimately, the elbow caught a portion of the clones thigh. This wasn't enough to hurt the clone too much, just knocking its balance out of sack for a moment and sending him to the ground sideways. The clone stuck out a hand and shot a swift horizontal kick towards Hotaru using its right leg as its right arm pulled a kunai from its backside belt lace. The kick shot towards the kids head, neck, shoulder area as the actual Naizu looked on and analysed.

Hotaru would bring a single hand up, striking the incoming leg with an open palm, and then wrapping his claw-like fingers around it. Bringing a single knee upward, while pulling the leg downward, Hotaru would attempt to snap the leg of the clone in half, most likely causing it to dissipate. He didn't, however forget to keep himself protected. His eyes remained on the open arm, which was reaching behind his back, and so Hotaru's own open hand moved to his side, prepared to lash out at any second to block or counter as he saw fit.

Twistintg its leg and body, the clone stuck the kunai into the ground as Hotarus knee hit. The movement allowed for the inside of the clines knee to be met and bent naturally, and giving allowance for another attack. As the bunshin was hit, and stuck the kunai into the ground, it suspended and stiffend its upper body above ground via the kunai . Its legs fiercely slung up and retracted, taking the boy along with them as its arms pulled forward, curling inward with the upper body in preparation of a cattipult and sending the kunai at the kid simultaneously.

Hotaru would release the leg as soon as it jerked back, not liking the thought of being jerked around. He wasn't the best at taijutsu, and he wasn't sure he would be able to handle it. The Kunai he could handle, though, as he leapt up into the air above his clone opponent. The kunai flew past just below his feet as he brought his knees up to his chest. Then, as suddenly as he had flown into the air his feet would come straight down on the clone's rib cage, removing a kunai from his pocket as he stabbed it down toward his opponent's throat.

Naizu approved of Hotarus logical moves and smiled, disappearing from his position seemingly and reappearing infront of him and grabbing the arm holding the weapon. Ultimately it was just quick movement that brought the trainer to the trainee so fast, speaking while holding his arm: "Not bad, I like how quickly you improvised there, logic and quick wits out does impulse and recklessness every time. We're gonna save my clone here for the next exercise of which im pretty sure you know what it is, judging from the order of which how things have gon thus far. This is gonna put a test to your chakra and see just how much you have because everyone needs to know their current limits and be able to track their progress with improving that amount". The clone got up and walked beside Naizu as he released the grip of the smaller arm. Two hand seals were made as 10 more clones were made and sent to different areas, though all were infront of Hotaru and stood still. " The objective here is to destroy all the clones, one by one, and do it with different techniques. Afterward will be a bonus task and we will call it a day, when you are ready, you may commence" said Naizu as he and the clone hopped up onto a small shed behind the cat eared chuunin.

Hotaru nodded confidently, as he watched the ten clones spread out. All he had to do was produce ten ninjutsu that he could use in different manners to kill off the clones. Hotaru was hoping that Naizu would be taking into account the intense chakra capacity and control training that any and all Gyouan went through, meaning that his chakra control and efficiency would naturally be at least 1.5 if not 2 times higher than a normal chuunin's. As he strode up to the first Clone, he gave the clone a slight bow, and then went directly to work. Instantly his fingers flickered together, forming several hand seals before breaking apart again. From the moisture in the air and the ground, a clone would form of Hotaru. The clone leaped forward, slashing out at the Clone with a Kunai as Hotaru turned to the nearest clone. Again his fingers wove seals, and then a cloud of what appeared to be mist would appear, jetting toward his opponent before spreading out into a mini-cloud that would consume the clone.

Name: Futton; Senjutsu Teki na Kiri - Boil Release; Tactical Mist

Description: Hotaru will first begin this technique by creating a mist in his mouth. Then using his Boil chakra, he will increase the acidity to the point where it will burn through flesh, and soft tissue, but not bone. The mist can then be released with a range of five meters in front of the users. Everyone but Hotaru himself is subject to the technique, meaning that it can't be used where allies are present. If used in a wide open area breezes and wind techniques may spread out the mist, increasing the range but decreasing the potency.

Water Clone

"Good job kid, now you just have 9 more to go" said Naizu as he cuffed his hands around his mouth and spoke in order for the chuunin student to hear him. His dou wasn't like a Sharingan or Byakugan in the sense of being able to see the chakra in someone, however he could actually feel the chakra in people. So what he did instead, was make a loud whistling noise as a dog came sprinting across the area, into the lot and right over to the shed by The Mizukage. "Traigus, you know what to do" he said as he hopped down and took a knee while still observing the young lad in his training. "I suppose I'm here to take note of the kids chakra right?" said the nin-dog as he took a seat and scratched behind his ear for a moment. "Exactly" said Naizu in a short, one word statement.

1st summon: Traigus is a nin dog that specializes in strategy. Typically he will stay at naizu's side and can sense chakra within seconds along with a strong guestimate of its level. He is not well armed in the art of combat.
