Damn, I miss this place when it was booming and full of lush activity from day to night and never had a dull moment. From Revy and Vals dumb ass arguments that spilled over into the rp, to myself birthing lush activity to a village that no one even thought of as its Kusakage.

This forum turned seven years old last month. Yeah I agree with Revy, I noticed a lot of the top naruto forums (e.g. narutoR) have fallen.

Sure, Revy and Val had some rough edges on their personally-developed characters that needed tuning. But placing ems, rinnegan, byakugan, bijuu, KH, SAO, and random naruto clan abilities onto a single character is overdoing it. Imagination pls.

While I do agree with your standpoint you are missing one thing. Other than this one there are NO other active naruto sites out here. Lets face it. So unless you wanna retry this one again, this is the only one I see particularly active.

Besides what site is perfect? This is not an advertisement. I simply came here to late enough to not make any memories here D: But if you guys want to make a topic or something I'm all for it haha.

This is rather nostalgic, everyone.

I'm very pleased to announce that I agree with Revy (first time in like what six years?). The age of Naruto RP is over.

The reason? Well, no boundaries. Almost everyone followed the same character presets or stereotypes. Allow me to demonstrate: Character X was a super prodigy, good at everything he did with his own custom Kekkei Genkai that allowed him to summon muffins out of thin air and then hurl them towards his oppponents, causing nuclear explosions. Did I mention the he was the last surviving member of his clan? Well of course he was, duh.

Character X would then fullfil his lifelong dream; to become Kage in his Village and pass the Will of Fire (Water if he was in Kiri, Wind in Suna etc.) around. All that until he becomes inactive because he is too busy with his real life issues and is replaced by someone else. An alternative route was to join the Akatsuki after discovering that his dead parents did not actually die in a fire when a talied beast attacked but were murdered by the ANBU because they were too close to discovering Ichiraku Ramen secret recipe! And of course they didn't stop with his parents they had to annihilate the characters entire clan because either way they posed too much of a threat to the village. In either of these scenarios the character at some point would become the lab rat of a mad scientist who would make an eye transplant to him granting him both the powers of a Mangekyo Sharingan and a Rinnengan!

This gengre of a storyline was too linear and to be more blunt, BORING. I know many idolized Uchiha Sasuke, but maybe this was the problem; trying to imitate a psychopath who suffered a trauma in his childhood and put it on paper takes the fun away and does not allow for new plotlines to be developed. Plotlines without those crazy ass powers that appeared towards the ending of the manga and allowed characters to blast away half a continent with a clap of their hands.

I know you getting tired now and I'm starting to sound like a lunatic who is blabbering nonsense on a dead site so I'll just end my post with this. Truth is, I've quit roleplaying for years now, but all those precious memories I have from Naruto X still linger in my heart. It's not like my to get sentimental but if I have one regret, is that I wished to role play with all of you a little more.

I'm just tired of it. Everyone tries to be some OP freak (I know I'm one to talk)

But what makes it worse is they constantly have to tie that in with a background of being some kind of lunatic or heartless killer. In Naruto RP, there is nothing but killing anymore. People don't seem to know how to RP anything else, and it quickly turns into dick measuring competitions between who can write the longest most complex post to try to confuse the other person behind the computer.

Yet sadly, that's the only way you can win a fight the majority of the time, because no one understands character boundaries either. They'll RP a Gennin the exact same way they'd RP a Kage with the shitty argument of "Well Gennins have beaten Kages".

This stuff ontop of everything else that is a constantly reoccurring theme in Naruto RP. I'm just tired of it. I've pretty much quit RP for the time being, until I can settle into something else I like, but I don't think Naruto will ever be that again. The series itself completely destroyed any sense of balance it once had as soon as Madara got involved, and it took peoples interest in that balance with it.

If I did RP again, it would probably be either something medieval again where there are no powers, or something like Sword Art. Sort of always wanted to do an SAO RP.

Well, I feel like a Nanatsu no Tazai (Seven Deadly Sins) RP would be rather interesting. The characters are relatively balanced and have meaningful weaknesses.

Yeah that was definitely Val. She had eliminated my secondary character with some bullshit move written into a long post. But hey, I was a shit RPer back then. I deserved it. lol

I don't know whether the thread was deleted or not, but the post will be in the Sunagakure sub-forum if you're looking for it.
