The bodyguard who beat her up. [P] [Karei, Ralia]

Ralia was standing in the middle of a meadow, which was surrounded by thick trees. The grass was going up until Ralia's waist, hiding therefore her black baggy pants which reached her knees. She was wearing a light blue tank top, matching her eyes. A light breeze was going around and played with her long pink hair, as she looked up at the sky. It was a sunny day, the winds bringing only few clouds to hide the bright sun. She closed her eyes and thought about her fighting skills. She didn't consider herself being a good fighter. The young female still couldn't believe that she became Tsuchikage. Ralia opened her eyes again, sighing. She looked around herself only to see that all there was, was high grass. No water at all. 'Must have grown from the rain.' she thought. This field was rather odd, considering that Iwa was marked of rocky terrain. They must have put a lot of effort to create such a meadow. Ralia was waiting for Karei to show up, and wished he would hurry, as she started getting anxious.

Karei walked slowly into the grassy field, obviously taking his time. He was in no hurry to get this over with, after all they had all day; Karei'd made sure of it, when he told everyone that the Kage would be out for the day, and that she would be taking no visitors of any kind. He smiled to himself, a smoking roll of paper stuck into his mouth. He breathed out a small cloud of smoke, stepping up directly behind the young girl.

"Boo." He said quietly, giving her a gentle shove.

''Boo.'' Ralia heard Karei say, as he was standing behind her. He went on to lightly push her, but she grabbed his hand and would pull him over her shoulder. Karei would fall flat on his back, not too hard though, as the high grass would act as a kind of cushion. The female would then smile at him; she would do that so she wouldn't appear weak. Ralia had noticed Karei's face expression when he left from their first meeting. It looked like he was pitying her, like he knew that she wouldn't last as a Kage, which was probably true, but Ralia wanted to prove him otherwise. She wanted to show him that she could be strong, too.

[[It is so short...that I want to tear it to shreds and then burn the pieces. And then throw the ash into the ocean.]]

Her hand snaked around his wrist, rolling him over her shoulder and toward the ground. He rolled his eyes as he fell-child's play- and flicked through two single-handed seals. His back hit the ground and he sunk into it, disappearing completely. Suddenly, several dozen clones appeared around her, the cloned joints creating a small, hazy ring around her. Another Karei stepped through the ring, smiling.
"Let's go, kid." He taunted, stepping back behind the other clones. The clones moved in weaving patterns, sprinting, stopping on occasion, shuffling themselves like a deck.

Moguragakure no Jutsu - Mole Hiding Technique

Doton • Moguragakure no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. This technique allows the ninja to burrow into the ground and hide out of sight. This allows them to avoid attack or travel underground.

Karei, surprisingly, sunk into the ground. Ralia let go of his hand as he disappeared. She looked at the place where he disappeared and quickly formed some handseals. Instantly, an earth clone appeared beside her, resembling her in each way. The clone had everything on him that Ralia had. Karei-clones appeared around Ralia and encircled her and her clone, while she was standing back to back with her clone. The real Karei stepped forward and looked at her, smiling. "Let's go, kid." he said and disappeared behind the clones which where walking around Ralia in circles. Sometimes stopping, they were observing her every move as Ralia quickly formed some hand seals and seemed to be sucked into the earth. As soon as the real Ralia's head had sunken into the earth, the fake Ralia performed a handseal and set off all the explosive tags that it was carrying with it; the same amount the real Ralia had, 15. The explosions range would be around 7.50 meters.

Meanwhile, the real Ralia appeared from underground 15 meters behind the circle with Karei and the clones. Her clone had exploded, probably taking with it the rest of the clones. Ralia pulled out a Kunai and waited for Karei to come out from the smoke screen that had been created by the explosion.

Karei let loose a sigh as he noticed the clone appear. His Kage began to sink underground, slowly but surely. As she began to disappear, her clone activated a single seal. From the looks of it, it wasn't a seal for a jutsu. Suddenly, he heard the crack and fizzle of explosive tags on the clone. Karei took two steps back from his circle, stomping on the ground in front of him with the heel of his boot.

The earth cracked in a perfect rectangle, about seven feet tall, which then flipped up in front of him. Karei placed one shoulder against the stone slab, and leaned at an angle. The explosion occurred with a loud bang and a flash of light and smoke. He slid back a bit, digging a rut in the ground, but the stone slab remained in tact and, thanks to it, so did he.

Karei placed one hand on the slab, and suddenly it turned to mud. The mud began to form the head of a dragon, firing orbs of dark material straight at the Kage, who was standing a distance away. As this occurred, Karei disappeared behind the head. He would appear just behind Ralia, attempting to wrap a length of wire around her ankle to keep her still.

Doro Gaeshi - Mud Overturn

Doton • Doro Gaeshi is a defensive Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. After striking the ground with their hands, a large wall of earth will rise into place as defense. The defense is not perfect though, a hard or drilling impact can puncture the wall.


Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu - Double Suicide Decapitation Technique

Doton • Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. The ninja will travel through the ground to appear below their target. They will then surprise their target by then pulling them into the ground. Once in the ground their target is thus immobilized.

Doryuudan - Earth Dragon Projectile

Doton • Doryuudan is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. The ninja will do the necessary hand seals and create a dragon from the river of mud made after using the Doryuu Taiga technique. This dragon will then spew mud projectiles from its mouth.

Karei had obviously noticed the clone and thus stepped back from his circle. He tapped his foot to the ground and a wall of earth arose, protecting him from the blast. He then formed some handseals and a dragon head out of mud appeard and dark orbs were rushing at the young female who was holding a kunai. Ralia's facial expression was a bit tensed as her heart rate skyrocketed. She ran towards her right side, avoiding the orbs, and sraight towards Karei performing handseals. As she finished, she also stopped running and spears out of solid rock appeared underneath Karei, threatening to pierce his body. Ralia was standing some meters away from her bodyguard.

Ralia watched her attack failing. Karei just cracked the spikes with his boots as he stood on top of them smiling at the young female before him. Karei moved down from the spears and neared the girl. Suddenly, some shuriken appeared to be rushing at the young Kage aiming for her arms and legs. The pink haired woman quickly jumped to her right again, one of the shuriken cutting her black baggy pants. 'Oh fuck...those are my favourite pants.' While she was dodging, Ralia threw the kunai at Karei's head, missing its target for some good centimeters. As the kunai flew she quickly made some handseals and two clones appeared on her right and left. The clones sped behind the young man and stood there each holding two shuriken, which were bound together by a thin wire, while Ralia performed another set of handseals and a dark cloud shot out of her mouth attempting to envelop Karei. If he would stay where he was, the cloud would cover him. While the cloud was making its way to Karei, the clones threw the shuriken in a circular manner around the man attempting to tie him up.

Karei lifted his left hand now, curled around wires that had not been visible before. Her clones moved behind him, she to his right. Karei tugged on the wires attached to the shuriken, bending backwards as he spun them in a circle. They struck the clones, flying off as the eruptions of flame burnt the wires. Karei let go of the wires, now staring his Kage in the eyes. While he was busy with the clones she had finished her jutsu.

Spiraling from her mouth was a burst of flame, growing in size with every second. Karei's eyes grew wider, his body tensed. He dove forward, sinking head first into the ground just beneath the approaching billow of flames. This time, though, he would not resurface out in the open. He broke surface just a few inches behind his Kage, keeping low so as not to poke out over the tall grass. He watched as the flames blazed over wet grass, eating away at them despite their layer of liquid protection.

Karei smiled, a kunai still in his right hand, as he stepped silently forward. He brought the kunai up to the base of her spine, pushing the tip forward so that it might press into her back, but not cut her. Just a way to show her where he was.

[[I think that this is a good time to show an example of a good intercept. I used the chronological order of your post and used subtle details to intercept your clone's shuriken wires.

"While the cloud was making its way to Karei, the clones threw the shuriken in a circular manner around the man attempting to tie him up."

^Showing that your jutsu wasn't done when they threw the shuriken. So by destroying them and then stating that you finished your jutsu, I placed myself in the right place and time to destroy your clones before their attack happened.

Karei had destroyed the clones as the smoke screen made its way to him. Instead of engulfing him, though, the smoke just covered an empty area. 'Total failure' she thought as her eyes narrowed trying to concentrate so she could hear the man's foot steps. Her mouth was still open, so the smoke hadn't exploded, yet. Absolute silence was covering the field as she looked around for Karei. Suddenly, she heard the sound of something crossing the high grass. As she was turning around from her left to see what it was she saw a Kunai pointing at her tummy and reacted instinctive.

As she was turning around, Ralia quickly grabbed the man's hand which was holding the kunai with her left hand and pushed it aside, leaving him wide open. Simultaneously, she pressed all her body weight against his being, her right fist aiming for his stomach.

Karei smirked as she knocked his hand aside, allowing the blade to drop. It tumbled through the air, embedding itself tip-down into the soft soil. He watched as she moved with average speed, aiming a fist at his stomach as she pressed herself against him, probably to knock him over.

He wrapped his own fingers against her left wrist, his other hand snapping up like the head of a snake to wrap around her back. He pulled her, chest to chest, so that her punch would miss its mark. Simultaneously, he threw his entire weight backwards, pulling her down with him toward the ground.

As Ralia pressed against the man's body, she felt her left wrist being grabbed by him. Shortly after, her back was embraced by his arm while she was pushed against him. At the same time, Karei threw himself backwards, tearing the girl down with him. The female's blue eyes closed because of the sudden force with which they were falling, as well as her teeth, which caused the large mist to explode, sending them off some meters. A faint thump could be heard there where Karei fell, Ralia on top of him, her eyes still being closed, as the wind blew away her long pink hair. After a couple of seconds she opened her crystal blue eyes and stared into Karei's.

''Eh...looks like I lost.'' she whispered, blushing slightly as she smiled. She was embarassed that she had lost; She was the Kage after all. However, she had expected nothing less from her bodyguard.

Karei's limbs locked tight around her small frame and they fell. He felt the exhilarating rush of the few short seconds between him and the ground beneath him. In that sliver of time a few things came to mind. First of all, he figured that he probably should have put her beneath him; his muscles were hard to fall on, but the soil would have provided a cushion. Second, he considered the fact that this wasn't the way one would normally win a fight. Finally, he realized that he was enjoying himself, sans drugs, which was a new experience for the ancient man in a middle-aged body.

They tumbled to the ground, and he felt himself sandwiched between soft, slightly moist soil and the young girl's well-trained body. They crashed in a medley of limbs and cloth, and a tangle of white and pink strands of hair. His arms, locked so tightly around her rib cage he was almost afraid he'd broken her, relaxed. His neck went limp, his head falling back into the comfort of the earth; the one thing that always made him feel grounded and in control.

The young kage lying on his chest looked up, their eyes met, brilliant pools of blue meeting stormy gray clouds. She blushed, whispering, "Eh... Looks like I lost."

Karei's face cracked into a smile, he chuckled as he slid her off of him and onto the cushion of the ground beside him. Pulling himself up into a sitting position, he retracted his knees to his chest and lay his chin upon them. His arms wrapped around his legs in much the same way they'd wrapped around her torso only a few seconds prior.

"That.." He began, speaking the words as slowly and carefully as if they were fragile enough to break if uttered hastily, "was fun."

The words fell heavily into the silence of mid-afternoon, without so much as a breeze to pass and fill it. He waited patiently for some sort of reply, whether verbal or physical. If she were anything like him, she'd respond with an attack, a final attempt at winning the fight. Thankfully, though, he knew that she was nothing like him.

The grey eyes chuckled as the man's arms shoved her off of his body. Ralia slid slowly onto the soft earth, her nose catching the scent of the high grass. It was a fresh aroma; They hadn't been fighting there, so the grass was still intact in contrast to the grass which was now burning away because of the explosion. The Kage let her limbs loose and put her hands behind her head, while looking into the clear blue sky. Only some clouds were lethargically making their way over to the next city, away from Iwa. It was peaceful, this scenery; Truly astonishing. The girl's eyes were exploring the sky when she spotted some kind of animal. ''Hey, Karei. Look. It's a llama!'' she said quite happily about her discovery. Ralia liked Llamas; They were really funny and cute, in her opinion. ''Ah...I just love llamas.''

''That..was fun.'' Karei admitted slowly, as if he couldn't believe it himself. Ralia's face lit up in a grin as she pushed herself up and quickly crawled in front of Karei's legs. She lifted her head and neared his head as she put her hands on the man's knees. Staring into his grey eyes, she sent him a brilliant smile. ''It was entertaining, indeed. We should do it again.'' she exclaimed, her voice being full of joy. She had lost the fight, but at least she had fun while doing so.

The Tsuchikage moved forward, her head abnormally close to his own, her hands resting gently on his knees. He felt her long, bony fingers pressed softly against him, and suddenly felt very awkward. It wasn't suitable for a Kage of any sort to be so familiar with others; but at the same time, he'd never been a politically correct Tsuchikage either.

She stared into his eyes, a clear spring sky facing its darker, stormier half. For a moment he contemplated that metaphor, and wondered if the sky was ever disappointed in itself when it rained, or if it just hoped that it would change soon. He hoped it would change soon, and he hoped the sky felt the same.

A smile broke out across his face without his knowing, escaping the cage of apathy he held locked so tightly when he faced others. His eyebrows knit together in confusion for half a moment when he realized what his mouth was doing; it wasn't the cold and hollow smile he usually gave, it was genuine and meaningful. He decided that he liked it.

"Any time you'd like," he replied warmly, not moving a single muscle in his body, "Sansei-chan."

Hearing the man's reply, Ralia stood swiftly up as the sun fell on her face, illuminating her eyes. Her long pink hair waved in the wind while she looked at Karei, smiling widely. She was happy that the male had become more familiar with her, familiar enough as to break that fake smile into a real one. The real one was so much more beautiful, in the girl's opinion. Ralia stretched out her fragile hand, implying for Karei to take it.

''You and me,'' she said, the light splitting on her head as her fingers spread out waiting for the man to grab them so he could stand up ''a team.'' She finished her sentence when she pulled him up with force once he took her hand. Ralia was feeling accomplished. She had made Karei acknowledge her as a friend, and what was more important, she had made him smile; Truly smile, which was the greatest gift he could have given to her.

''I'm glad I met you'' she said her face turning a bit serious now. She hadn't felt in a long time happiness, true happiness. Her life was full of scars, paved with hatred and pain. Karei had torn down the grey walls and let in rays of light to tell her that there was still hope. She liked that feeling and didn't want it to fade away. ''Karei...-kun?'' she slowly started but stopped, not being sure if she should voice her thoughts. The girl turned around and stared into the open field. The grass seemed like it was dancing as the wind rushed by. Realizing that she had to share her thoughts, or rather, that she felt the strong desire to do so, Ralia spoke up. ''Promise you won't leave.''

Karei grabbed her hand, clasping his fingers around her wrist and pulled, dragging himself up with her help. He smiled for a while, even more when she expressed her feelings on having met him. Then, suddenly, the mood turned much more serious. She began to say something, cutting herself off. Karei watched with stone's patience as she turned away from him, building up the words she was trying to say.


''Promise you won't leave.'' She said, finally. It didn't sound like a command, or a suggestion. In fact, he couldn't quite figure out what it was. He assumed it was a request, and even still his smile crashed. Life as a Kage had taught him to keep his head straight and his heart out of it. Life as a shinobi had taught him to keep his relationships fluid; everyone dies eventually. Yet, in spite of all of the wisdom bestowed upon him by several decades in his field of work, he wanted nothing more than to do as she asked.

"I don't think I can make that promise." He said after a painfully long pause. He had gotten into the habit of pausing before he said anything that would matter to someone. That way, when he did speak, there would be no 'hm's 'like's or 'y'know's. "I can promise that I will do my best to never leave. I can promise that I'll never leave on purpose. But, as your bodyguard, it's my job to die in your defense. As a kage you're a magnet to danger. Logically, you'll outlive me." He said, his words as painfully slow as the pause had been long. He looked up to the sky, envious of the clouds' careless lifestyle for the first time in years.

Having her back still turned at him, Ralia's gaze wandered through the field. The wind was gently blowing while she waited for Karei to say something. She noticed the sun going down, though it was still day. The sky had turned to a red yellow colour, painting the clouds above pink-orange. It was a beautiful colour; Ralia would have taken a picture if she had a camera with her. Her hand coursed to the cut on her black buggy pants Karei had made. She considered sewing it. After all, it was her favourite pair of pants.

As her fingers played around with the loose fabric, Karei started speaking. Her heart stopped for a second when he said that he couldn't make that promise. Well, what had she expected anyway? Had she really assumed that he would say ''I promise.'' ? Of course he wouldn't. They were Ninja, they faced death every day. And yet, the female felt the need to hear comforting words in that time. Her hand continued moving as her head turned to stone. Her stare was directed at a nearby tree. It was the only one standing in the field. Old and large, who knows what this tree had withstood with the passage of time.

Karei continued talking, much to Ralia's surprise. Her facial expression didn't change when she heard what was close to what she had wanted to hear. She suddenly felt dirty, when he said that she was a magnet to danger. As if she had a virus which would eventually kill him. As he was finishing with his sentence Ralia lifted her head and faced the last rays of the evening sun. She closed her eyes and smiled a sighing smile. ''Of course.'' she said while she let her head drop a bit and after some seconds she turned around and faced him.

Staring into his gray eyes, she spoke. ''It's enough that you're my friend.'' she said, smiling. Her hand twitched to move up his cheek but she restraint herself from doing so. It would look weird, now wouldn't it? The young Kage looked up at the sky which had turned dark blue by now. The stars were sprawled around it, brightening it up. ''You know what I like? Fireworks. They're just so beautiful.'' the girl's voice had changed once again; It had turned to this cheerful and kind tone everyone knew.
