Taking a walk with a friend

Kidate and Ochiba walked to the outer gate of the sand. There they awaited Kitsuke's arrival. Ochiba's scale-like fur gleamed in the sun.
"I am sorry if you don't like it here Ochiba." Kidate said apologetically.
"Oh, on the contrary. I love the sun, and I don't have to hunt as much, being fed by the keepers" Ochiba replied, purring slightly in it's throat. To anyone else, it was a series of hisses and growls, but Kidate understood him perfectly.

Only a day or so after they had departed, Kidate returned to the same spot. Walking side-by-side with Ochiba and Kitsuke. With a smile, he gazed upon the gates and said calmly to Kitsuke.
"I am to go report to the Kage, good luck my friend." With that, he was gone, followed by Ochiba the lizard-panther.
