Manekis has a spar (no killing)

Maneki was bored and was waiting in the sparring area for someone to spar with. He had been jogging with leg weights but he decided that it would be easier to train his legs with a spar.

It was a hot and sunny day and maneki was out for a jog. He had been training his legs for the last few weeks to get his speed up. His goal for this training was to get to his original speed well wearing his leg weights so that when he takes them off he has a big speed advantage. Maneki believed that his speed with the weights has gotten that far so he decided that to test this he would go to the sparring area. When he got there he took a look around so to have a mental picture of the area in case he was blinded by and flash bomb. The sparring area was looking good. The grass was about three inches high and there were some wooden practice dummy's in the center. Maneki decided to take a seat on a dummy well waiting.

Hotaru smiled softly at the sun above him, it's warm and gentle rays caressing his flesh. It was a nice day, on the hotter end. Due to the naturally humidity of the Mist, the day would feel a lot hotter than it really was. There was little breeze, and such high humidity meant that one's sweat would stick to them like glue. Hotaru had prepared for this, however, and dressed accordingly. He wore a baggy pair of black pants, full of pockets which no doubt held various ninja tools. He was bear foot, with no shirt on. His pale skin glistened with the sweat produced by the heat of the sun, a blade wrapped in cloth hanging from his back and another katana resting in its sheath clenched in his hand. He happened upon the training area, where another shinobi sat upon a training dummy. Tilting his head curiously, he approached the figure with a purr.

Maneki was lost in though when he was suddenly blinded by light. He covered the light with his hand and took a look at what it was that caused the light. When he looked he saw it was some guys headband causing the light to reflect at him. Maneki saw that the guy was coming towards him so he jumped off the dummy to greet the guy. when the guy was close enough "hello im maneki neko nice to meet you."

Hotaru tilted his head to the right slightly, his wide cat-like eyes taking in the boy before him. Nothing of interest struck him, so Hotaru figured he wouldn't remember anything about the boy within an hour after they parted ways; which would hopefully be soon. As friendly as he was, Hota didn't enjoy idle discussions with people who didn't interest him in the slightest.
"Yes, that's nice. I'm Hotaru Gyouan, child of the "White Panther" Kidate Gyouan." Hotaru said, as he always did when introducing himself to people he really didn't want to talk to. When confronted with such an infamous and frightening name most chose to make their time with Hotaru short. Most didn't want to piss off a man who was respected by even the Mizukage himself. His father's name was useful, it held quite the history; Akatsuki leader, owner of demonic weaponry, most powerful Gyouan since the founding counsel, downright evil and divinely powerful creature, everything one didn't want in an enemy.

Maneki said to hotaru "cool being the son of Kidate Gyouan you must be pretty strong." Maneki then said "would you be up for a friendly spar with me iv been waiting for someone to spar for a long time." Maneki then waited for an answer.

Hotaru looked at the boy with an ever-curious gaze. The boy seemed to be rather serious about challenging him to a spar, which was not a very wise thing in Hota's opinion. He wasn't being arrogant, he was just being observant. The boy wore leg-weights, which meant he focused on speed or taijutsu, or both. The boy would need genjutsu to have an edge of Hotaru, any other specialty would put them both on moderately even ends. At that point Hotaru's advanced training and natural senses would pull him over the top. However, he wasn't one to stop another from learning how to pick their battles, so he accepted the challenge with a nod. Suddenly, his thumb flicked the katana out of its sheath, his other hand grasping the handle and lashing the blade out suddenly. The blade was placed back in its sheath, right after it cleaved through the wooden dummy his opponent was sitting upon.

Maneki was happy to see hotaru agree to the spar and was even happier when he saw hotaru had a sword. Now he could practice his taijutsu and kenjutsu. When the wooden dummy piece fell maneki quickly drew his swords and charked chakra into them. He then launched a kick with his wind chakra enhanced leg sword at him.

Hotaru sighed as the boy revealed blades upon his legs. It was a strange thing to use in combat, and a poor life decision. There were far too many ways to counter a blade as it was already, but adding the fact that the blade was attached to one's legs was just plain suicide. The variables seemed never-ending to Hotaru, but he didn't have time to think on them just yet, the blade was coming in fast. Hotaru ducked rather quickly, allowing the kick to fly over his head as he rolled forward, springing up and landing on the remains of the wooden dummy in a crouching stance. The blade remained in its sheath, clenching in his left fist while his right hand clenched and relaxed repeatedly. His reaction time was slowed, the evidence of this being the small scraps of hair that floated to the ground from where the razor sharp blade had met the tips of the scarlet strands. Turning around, Hotaru gave the boy a frighteningly confident smile; this wasn't arrogance, no it was something far more concerning than that. There was no doubt in Hotaru's mind that he could win the fight, but not because he believed he was any better than his opponent. The look in his eyes which mirrored itself in his smile was that of resolve, resolve to win a match that didn't mean much of anything to anyone. After all.. Hotaru thought to himself The meaningless tasks are often the most satisfying..

Manekis kick was easily dodged and he ended up slashing threw a piece of the training dummy. Maneki knew that he was just having a spar but he really wanted to win even though with his weights on his speed was reduced. Since maneki had already gotten one attack already he decided to lethotaru attack. He opened his gourd and put the water on the ground. He then got ready to defend.

Hotaru sighed, placing the katana upon his lap. He then wove hand seals, all the while focusing chakra into his lungs. There was an obvious reason the boy had released water, the same obvious reason for him carrying a massive gourd of it on his back. Smiling, he brought his hand up to his mouth, forming a circle with his index finger and thumb, while extending the others to the keep them out of the way. Suddenly, several orbs of flame erupted from his mouth, spreading out so that they would hit the entire surface area of the water he had released, which would no doubt create steam. However, the fireballs also had a nasty surprise should he defend against them instead of simply abandoning his water. They each held a scorching hot, razor sharp shuriken which could break the surface of even a thick block of wood at the rate of speed it was going at. Simply blowing them off or blocking with a simple water defense would be of no use to his opponent at this point in time.

Phoenix Fire

Maneki saw three fires balls rushing towards him. To block the balls maneki lifted up some of his gourd water and then set it in front of him. The balls collided with the wall of water leaving a little water behind and a lot of mist. Then suddenly a shuriken speeded passed his head just missing his cheek. Before he waited to see if their were any more coming from the fire he ued his swords to block his vital spots. Two more shurikens appeared and hit his arms causing a cut but no blood dropped since the shuriken was hot it sealed the cut as it went. When the mist cleared he said to hataru "is that all you have" He then waited for the next attack.

Hotaru could only laugh, the boy was playing into his hand far too easily. He almost didn't believe it, but there was no way the boy was noticing the patterns just yet, he really did have to be that stupid. The mist would begin to clear away from the boy, but not completely. Particles of water still hovered all around him in the air. Water.. Such a useful thing.. Hotaru thought to himself cheerfully, as the boy spoke. The boy's words would be drown out, however, as all of the mist that still hovered around him would condense, forming into an orb of water around his person. "No, that's not all." Hotaru purred quietly, his hand extended into the water as it formed around his opponent at a moderate speed, maybe three inches per second.

Water Prison Technique

Maneki saw that water was starting to surround him. Maneki decided that it would be best if he dodged it. He jumped into the air and to the left away from the water. Maneki then took a flash bomb and threw it at hotaru to blind and him. Maneki then waited for it to go off.

Hotaru smiled, this was not part of the plan, but he had several counter measures already laid out in case he plan had gone awry. For all of his faults, Hotaru did pride himself in being a fairly decent strategist. He wrenched his hand from the orb of water, the liquid exploding to form mist around him. Within the thick fog the flash of light appeared to be nothing more than a tiny flicker, it was impossible to see anything. However, this would not last for long. Suddenly, the mist would be pulled into a swirling vortex right in where Hotaru had been standing. When the mist finally cleared Hotaru's water clone stood there, in the same position Hotaru had been standing, giving no clue to the fact that it was in fact a clone. Standing directly in from of Hotaru, as if it had been summoned using a low-ranked summoning technique, was a small scarlet cat. The cat, actually being Hotaru in a transformation, stared up at his opponent with wide, innocent emerald eyes.

As he did so, the clone behind him brought the katana, still in its sheath, up to about chest level, wrapping one hand around the sheath and the other, firmly, around the handle which was wrapped in a black cloth. His expression was calm, cool, collected, revealing nothing but a slight glint in his eye. He was prepared for combat, just like Hotaru would be if he were not in cat form.

Water Clone

Hidden Mist ]]

Maneki saw the place fill up with mist. Maneki quickly jumped into a tree and came up with a plan. He launched some chakra from his plan to clear away the mist and then he saw a cat and hotaru with his sword unsheathed. Maneki paid no attention to the cat and launched an exploding tag at him. Well the kunai was going towards hotaru he began to wonder where the cat came from. Thinking he knew there was a chance of it being a summoning. with luck though his kunais explosion would get the cat to then.

Hotaru's clone smiled to himself, just as Hotaru would be doing had he not been in cat form. As the Kunai neared within five meters of them, Hotaru's clone released a concentrated jet of what appeared to be steam from its mouth. The steam barrelled toward the kunai, consuming it and the seal that caused explosions before it could do anything, with that gone the mist began to curl around in the air, before dissipating. Hotaru, in cat form, suddenly burst into a sprint, following the direction of the kunai to find his opponent. As it came upon his opponent, Hotaru turned back into a human, calling out "Henge!" as he did so to create the illusion that the summoning had simply transformed into its master. He brought his metal blade up to his side, and slashed out with a speed nearly blinding and a precision wire-thing, straight at the throat.

Description: Hotaru will first begin this technique by creating a mist in his mouth. Then using his Boil chakra, he will increase the acidity to the point where it will burn through flesh, and soft tissue, but not bone. The mist can then be released with a range of five meters in front of the users. Everyone but Hotaru himself is subject to the technique, meaning that it can't be used where allies are present. If used in a wide open area breezes and wind techniques may spread out the mist, increasing the range but decreasing the potency.

Maneki saw that the cat summonng was running up to him. Just to be safe he drew his swords and started to sync his breathing with the cats. Then suddenly it turned into a copy of hotaru with a sword. Maneki was a little surprised but prepared for this. As soon as the breathing changed he jumped back dodging a sword strike. Maneki then counter attacked. He threw two kunais at the real hotaru and then launched a kick at the fake one.

The real Hotaru chuckled, watching a slow kick fly toward his chest. He spun on his heels, after touching down on a branch, causing the kick to fly past him as he manoeuvred in further, bringing the blade down on the joint between the man's leg and his hip. Half of the blade was past his leg, meaning that the chop downward would be a hard one to dodge, and since the blade was beneath the man's own blade, it would near impossible to block. The clone of Hotaru, which was assaulted with two kunai, simply deflected them, charging forward with his own blade to attempt an attack at the man's chest, a simple thrust with the metal blade.

Maneki saw that both of the hotarus were going at him with swords. Maneki blocked the fist one by using his sheath to sheath the sword blocking it. He then blocked the attack done by the other one with a simple sword block. He then threw the sword he now had in the sheath into a tree and then jumped back 20 feet and fired 2 water bullets at them.

Tch..pathetic.. Hotaru thought to himself, as the boy blocked his attacks. His opponent would then also throw away his weapon, which seemed a very silly thing to do, considering the extremely weak technique he had traded it for. The bullets of water sped toward Hotaru at an intense speed, this is true, but nothing that he couldn't handle. Suddenly, a stream of flames erupted from his mouth, meeting the balls of water and instantly turning them to a good amount of steam. The stream didn't stop there, though, it continued forward, aiming to strike Hotaru's opponent with the speed and accuracy of an arrow.

Fire Dragon Flame Missile

Maneki saw a wave of fire coming at him and he had to find a way to stop it. He ran away from the fire and touched a tree. He drew the tree dry of water and made a water dragon from the water. It collided with the flame and canceled it out. He then took a defensive stance.

Description: Suiryuudan no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Water Element. The ninja does a long string of hand seals which then causes a column of water in the form of a dragon to rise from the water and then strike their target.

Hotaru smiled, bringing his clone in so that they would stand side-by-side, blades in one hand and sheaths in another. They were no longer willing to screw around, it was about time that they got serious. Hotaru tossed his blade to the water clone, dropping the sheath to the ground. Hotaru's clone dropped his sheath, catching the blade by its handle. Suddenly, Hotaru would be up the tree and launching himself toward his opponent, in a feral and beast-like stance. His fangs were barred, his back curled, his knees bent, and his hands in the form of claws. He ducked low as soon as he got near the boy, getting beneath his defenses before jumping up, launching an uppercut directly at his opponent's chin. As a precaution, the clone would come up directly behind him, stabbing both katanas at either arm in an attempt to pin them to the tree. The way it was set up, his opponent would only have the time to react and counter one of the attacks, not both. If he picked wrong, the fight would be over.
